Automotive Skills Project - 1926 Model T Pickup
The Red Flag Horseless Carriage Motor Tour wishes to partner with an educational organization to restore a 1926 Model T Pickup.
As the automotive industry moves to increased levels of technology, there are certain basic skills that the entry-level professional needs to have – process knowledge, basic tool skills, mechanical aptitude, sheet metal, painting, testing along with results-oriented training.
Technology levels and knowledge are important, but the basic skills can be taught on the vintage and earlier automobiles. This project will allow students to tackle a project from beginning to completion, manage the planning, process management, expenses, and testing. The added benefit is for students to be a part of the project where their work can truly be tested, and performance measured.
This 1926 Model T Roadster Pickup starts and runs as well as having new tires and tubes mounted on wooden wheels. It is an exceptionally strong foundation for a rebuild.
